"平和があなたにすることができる" loosely translated..."may peace be upon you."
My heart goes out to those in Japan as the citizens attempt to reclaim their lives as today's 8.9 magnitude earthquake/tsunami rattled them from everyday duties. I can only imagine what the people (families, friends, foreigners) are experiencing. Two minutes of intense impact that left people stranded on sea and land, only to find out that those two minutes would change their lives forever. This first video shows the first moments recorded at the CNN office in Japan, a supermarket & a few others' first hand experience with the quake. The second, a more memorial that CNN composed that really showcases the devastation that was caused.
The barren wasteland that was once Sendai, Japan is now just rubbles or faint memories of civilization that once roamed its streets. Boats floating on land, fires blazing above water, cars tossed around like a young child's toys...it pains my heart to see the destruction that has occurred & silenced me on my way to work as I listened to the radio report of what had happened. It's hard to imagine what it really was like to be there & experience first hand, Mother Nature's wrath that she so heartlessly poured out upon the country.
Not only did this affect Japan but the waves have spread to Hawaii. And other reports show that the Earth has shifted 25 centimeters on it's axis! That may not seem like much, but when you think about the entire globe shifting from where it was to a new rotation, that's pretty phenomenal!! This means that Earth now has to redistribute all of its mass in a different manner. That's a lot of MASS to be shifting around!!! It's almost surreal.
I can only say that I am thankful everyday that I have my life, my health, amazing family & friends that love & support me daily-withouth them I am nothing! I don't think I could ever conceive what it would be like to be involved in such a traumatic, life altering event. Thank you God for I am truly blessed with these awesome things.
